I graduated from
Temple University with a degree in health and physical education. I
have taught grades K-12 in the Philadelphia School District. I’ve
also worked at a local preschool in jobs varying from infant
facility, athletic director, lifeguard and preschool teacher. We are
going to have an awesome school year. KIDS are FIRST ROCKS!!!
Mrs. Janet Bowen,
Language Arts
I graduated from
Millersville University with a B.S. in Elementary and Special
Education and have my Early Childhood Certification. I have taught
both Kindergarten and preschool. I am a director of a children’s
club on the weekends. I am the mother of two grown children and
have a grandson, Riley.
Mrs. Angela Nice,
Creative Expression
I graduated from
Montgomery County Community College with an Early Childhood
Education degree. I am certified by the Department of Education. I
love teaching young children and have many year many years of
experience. At home, I have three wonderful children and enjoy
being a “Nona” to two grandchildren with two more on the way!
Mrs. Amy Johnson,
Science & Math
I received my Masters
degree in Education from the University of Fine Arts in
Philadelphia. I have taught in high school, middle school and
preschool settings. I am very glad to be joining Kids Are First. I
have had many experiences in the classroom and hope to bring my
ideas to the math/science programs. I look forward to meeting all
of you and spending time teaching your children!
Mrs. Vickie Martinelli (Mrs.
M), Gym & Music
I started my career
in early childhood education many years ago when I enrolled in a
vocational program for preschool teachers. I then went on to study
Elementary/Special education at Kutztown University. When I
graduated, I was lucky enough to land a fabulous job doing exactly
what I love most, TEACHING! I am certified by the Department of
Education to teach preschool as well as elementary and special
education. I am very excited to be back and am looking forward to a
fun filled, memorable school year.

I am a graduate of
Beaver College (Arcadia University) and a certified Elementary
Education teacher. My teaching experience ranges from elementary to
toddlers. I also have a passion for basketball and am currently
enjoying my sixth season as head coach for our local Pennridge HS
Lady Rams. I reside in Perkasie with my husband, 6 year old
daughter Alyssa and, 3 year old son Ryan. I am looking forward to a
wonderful school year with your child.

I am a graduate of Temple
University with a BS in education. I am certified to teach
Elementary, Early Childhood and Special Education. For 7 year I
taught in the public school system as a special education teacher
and left to be home with my son. I live in the Perkasie area with
my 6 year old son, Bryce, and my husband Jason. I am very excited
to return to teaching and look forward to working with all the kids.

Teddy Bears
I have my
Associates Degree in Elementary Education and worked in both the
daycare and preschool settings. I have worked with children from six
weeks to four years old and I absolutely love being a teacher! I
have two children of my own and feel being a mother helps me better
understand how difficult it is to entrust someone else with your
child. I consider it an honor and a privilege to be working here at
Kids Are First and with your children. I look forward to getting
acquainted with everyone in the upcoming school year. Please feel

Munchkins
Hi, my name is
Kim Hughes. I live in Souderton with my husband and boys, Brian age
7 and Kyle age 3. I graduated with a B.S.E.D from West Chester
University. I am very glad to be the Munchkin teacher. During my
free time I enjoy vacationing at the beach, bike riding and
reading. I also love to cook and enjoy trying new recipes.

Hi, my name is Lisa
Schmidt. I have studied Early Childhood Education at Bucks County
Community College. I have several years experience as a teacher’s
assistant as well as many years of providing care to children
privately before joining our staff.
Mrs. Donna Johnson,
Office Help, Substitute Teacher
I have been married
for fifteen years and am the proud mom of sons Alexander age 7 and
Connor age 3. I have worked for many years at a local preschools as
a Teacher and Assistant Manager before joining the Kids Are First
staff. When not working, she enjoys vacationing in the Pocono
Mountains, bike riding, skiing and writing.
